Hong Kong passport renewal in Qatar

My Hong Kong passport is going to expire on 19 June 2016. May I apply extension of my Hong Kong passport through China embassy in Qatar, then do an online application and fly to Hong Kong to collect passport in person?

If the above is not possible, may I know how long it takes to process Hong Kong passport renewal via Chinese embassy in Doha, Qatar?
