Question

Two simple things .Will we be needing the same card to drop at airport or we have to buy a separate card? Can we travel to airport by simply buying tickets for airport rather then buy amother card

You should use separate cards instead of sharing the same one. If you only use the Express Train, it is of course fine to have only the dedicated card. If using local all public transportation, the Smart Card is the best choice.
