About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is this route valid for 72-hour transit visa?

Hi, I'm holding Canadian passport and currently living in Japan.
Let's say I purchase 2 tickets from 2 different airlines:
Ticket #1: Okinawa to Seoul (single trip)
Ticket #2: Seoul to Shanghai, 2 days stay, then back to Seoul then Okinawa
Does that match the condition to apply for the 72-hour free transit ?

Yanco, if your travel route is like that, I’m afraid you cannot enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Shanghai because after a layover in Shanghai, you will fly back to Seoul, in principle, you should fly to a third country or region rather than Seoul.
