About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Hong Kong ??

I am flying from Japan to Hong Kong, staying two days in Hong Kong, and then flying to Guangzhou, staying 72 hrs and then onto to Manila. I am assuming the stay in Hong Kong is permissible? It says that Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan are regarded as a third region in terms of transit issues, which I am assuming means that a Hong Kong stay is allowed.
