About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

To get a 72-hour free transit, is it necessary to have a connecting flight (with same company) ?

Hi, I would like to take a flight Paris to Shangai and return Ho-Chi-Minh to Paris. And a separate flight Shangai to Ho Chi Minh 30 hours later the arrival in Shangai.
Can I get a 72-hour free transit?

No, it doesn’t have to be a connecting flight. Two separate flights are okay.
According to what you said, you can get the 72 hour free transit in Shanghai.
