VISA application after overstaying

type: L
Duration: 60 days multiple visit for 10 years
Citizenship: USA

I have been traveling to Korea and back to China for past two years. I also have been staying mostly in PRC due to my fiancé. Everytime I returned to PRC, I have reported to local PSB and have received the residence permit from them. The PSB normally didn't make a mistake on validity, and to ensure I leave PRC within 60 days, I booked the flight about a week before the PSB issued validity expired.
However, this time PSB made a mistake and have valitized the permit over my visa validity date. Today when I tried leaving PRC, airline clerk caught this and told me to go to immigration to sort it out. I have visited the immigration and they told me that I will be fined and my current 10 years entry permit revoked.

Now, after paying my penalties for overstaying for 22 days, can I reapply for it to China? If possible, is it also possible to get the 10 years multiple entry permit again?

Sean, it’s possible for you to re-apply for it to PRC, but I’m afraid it’s difficult for you to get 10-year one.

Thanks, that's what police said... I'm using an agent to clear this issue without revoking my visa.. Hopefully it works out...
