Flying via HongKong to Shanghai

I will fly from Australia via Hong Kong to Shanghai, where I stay 4 days. Then via Hong Kong back to Australia. In Hong Kong I just change the planes. Is a 144hour transit visa for Shanghai possible for me?

Helen, no, you cannot use the 144 hour free transit if you travel like that because after stopping in Shanghai, you fly back to HK. In principle, you should fly to a third country or region instead of HK. So you may need to apply for a tourist L type to Shanghai ahead of time.
