HiWe both have full British PassportsWe enter China JNB-HKG-PVG on Cathay PacificWe stay 2 nights in ShanghaiWe depart on Costa Cruise within the 144hr limit with first destination as Naha( Japan)The cruise docks again later in Hong Kong but ALSO in Sanya (PRC)Does the fact that we visit Sanya prevent us from making use of the 144hr TWOV in ShanghaiThanksTony

Tony, as your route is Hong Kong - Shanghai - Naha, I think you qualify for the 144hours free transit. However, for your stay in Sanya, if it's longer than 24 hours, you still need to get a visa.
