About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying into Hangzhou from Amsterdam and flying back to Paris from Hangzhou via Beijing

I am planning to fly from Amsterdam to Hangzhou and apply for 144 hour visa and stay in Hangzhou for 1 night and then fly from Hangzhou to Paris stopping in Beijing (not leaving the airport in Beijing) on the return flight. Is this permitted or does the return flight from Hangzhou have to be direct to Paris?
Thanks
Simon

Hi, Simon, the return flight cannot stop in Beijing, but it doesn't have to be a direct flight. If the return flight leaves from Hangzhou to Amsterdam via Shanghai or Nanjing, it's ok.
