About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I will fly from London to visit Shanghai for 2 nights,then back to London.Can I use 72 hour visa?

James, no, you cannot use it because you fly back to London after your layover in Shanghai. According to the 72 hour policy, after transiting in a Chinese city, you should fly to a third country or region. So you should apply for a tourist L type ahead of time.
