Shanghai 144 HR free transit

Hi everyone. I'm traveling to Shanghai for 5 days and then Making a stop in Japan (Narita). I noticed I the comments above that China needs visa proof for third country. Japan doesn't issue it until I land. Does anyone know what to do?
