About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Return Ticket with a stop-over

Hi, if I go to Shanghai from location A on one ticket. Then a separate ticket to go to B with a stop over in A does the free visa policy apply? Thanks.

George, I'm afraid the 72-hour free transit policy does not apply to you.

Thanks Rebecca for the quick reply. I should clarify. What I referred to as a stop over, instead I should say 'transfer'. Will that make any differences? Thanks again

Well, the result is the same. It doesn't apply to you, because you return to the country of departure after the stay in Shanghai.
