About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 hr Visa free entry

To Whom It May Concern
My Wife and I (Australian Citizens) are flying into Beijing from Australia, staying 2 nights to see Forbidden City and Tiananman square, joining Royal Caribbean cruise from Beijing to Japan and S. Korea for 7 nights, returning to Beijing for same day flight to Australia. Do we qualify for the 72-hour free Transit for both entries into China?
Thanking you in anticipation
James

James, because you will travel by cruise, you cannot use the 72 hour free transit.
But if your transit in Beijing is less than 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24 hours direct transit. However, according to what you said above, for your first transit in Beijing, your layover time may be over 24 hours. In this case, you may need to apply for a transit G type or tourist L type ahead of your journey; for your second transit in Beijing, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit.
