Extending Single Entry visa and getting back into China

Hi,
I have recently extended my entry permit and now have another single entry 90 day F type. I have been told that since I got my new entry permit issued PRC, I have not actually used my single entry. So for example, it is possible that I could stay in PRC for 2 months with my new entry permit, go back to the UK for a bit, then come back to PRC before the expiration date of my entry permit and my 90 days start again. To me this makes no sense as it means I could stay in PRC for 5 months on a 3 month entry permit, as long as I exit and re-enter before the expiration date. Could someone clarify this for me please? Thanks

Hi Sally, I think you have got the wrong information. You are holding a single entry permit, right? So you actually have used it at the time when you enter PRC. If you now travel out to other countries, you need to apply for another entry permit to enter.

Hi Kathie, thanks for replying!

I actually have not 'entered' PRC with this visa, as I received while I was in PRC already. Because I am already in PRC, I have been told that I have not used my single entry and can leave and come back in. Does this make sense? It sounds too good to be true, but I hope that it is

As far as I know, the Visa you get when you are in PRC usually has no entry on it. If you exit from PRC, it will expire. You can confirm this with the PSB.
