About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

question about 72 hour visa-free transit

Hi i wish to land in beijing on 21st march at 1am
And fly out 24th at 830am,
it is over the technical 72hours however i read the first day starts from the next day. Will my dates be acceptable i am then flying to kathmandu with a 2hr stop over in chengdu.

Daniel, in Beijing, the 72 hours counts from the flight arrival time so your layover is beyond 72 hours. Besides, you also have 2 hours stopover in Chengdu, which disqualifies you to use the 72 hour transit. So you should apply for a transit G type or tourist L type in advance of your trip.
