question about Work visa

I am an American, I live in Hefei. My resident permit expired on January 28th. I have a stay permit extension until February 26th. I recently signed a new working contract with a new employer. Am I required to go back to America to get a new work Z type or can I get it in Hong Kong?

Christine, you can try to get a new one at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB in Hefei. If it doesn’t work, you can go to HK or go back to America to handle it.
