About:Chinese Consulate in San Francisco

do we need a Visa for transit in Shanghai?

We will be on a cruise ship from Singapore to Shanghai and leave the same day from Pudong International Airprot.

Andres, actually, you qualify for the 24-hour direct transit policy, so you don't need the transit G type entry permit, but I'm afraid the curise company may require this to board onto the ship. You should double check this with it.
