transport from wuzhen to tongxiang.

Question

Will not be staying overnight in the watertown but am thinking about staying there till 8pm to see the town lit at night. Would there still be transport to Tongxiang Railway Station at that time? How easy would it be to find a taxi and how much would it cost at that time? Not sure if K282 bus is still running (comments online seem to indicate that bus runs till around 6pm but that's from Tongxiang to watertown).

The bus schedule back to Tongxiang in night is 18:10, 19:35 and 20:15. It departs from Xizha. Have fun~

Thanks Mark! Great info.Just wondering. If I do miss the last bus at 2015hrs for whatever unfortunate reason, will I be able to find a taxi that will take me to Tongxiang Railway Station? Any idea what the fare would be? I see comments online estimating the fare to be from cny 100 to 150 but that is during the day and from Tongxiang to this old town.

Yes, you can still catch a taxi instead if missing the bus. The fare is around CNY100-120 at night to Tongxiang.

Mark, just noticed that you mentioned that bus K282 (to Tongxiang) departs from Xizha. I am actually intending to start exploring Dongzha and then end the day at Xizha. Does that mean that I don't need to go back to WZ bus station to catch K282 and can board the bus directly at Xizha? Where in Xizha would K282 leave from? At the Xizha gate?

Well, I remember that you can find bus no.K282 nearby the Exit of Xizha Scenic Area. Generally speaking, you can find the pick-up station. If not, you can consult the staff of the scenic area. Don't worry.

Thanks Alina. While researching I came across a current bus schedule on the town website, which may be helpful to others. Apparently there were some slight adjustments to the schedule since 17th Dec 2014 to match it better with revised train timings at Tongxiang. There is one more bus in the evening from the old town to Tongxiang and timings are 18:10hrs, 18:50hrs, 1935hrs, and last bus at 2025hrs.
