About:Kunming Airport

Kunming - Transit Passenger

Hi,

I am transit passenger from Canada Vancouver to India, Kolkata. My halt is from 2:55 pm to 11:50 pm. I am guessing out of 9 hours 3 hours - it will take to check out and check in for the next flight. Any suggestion - if I can do a day trip or keep my luggage and make a city trip?

Yeah! The time is enough for you to visit the city, but do hurry up. As you are eligible to the 24h visa-free policy, so you need to apply for a stay permit upon arrival. In addition, you needn't claim your luggage because you will transfer from international to international.

So, you may take metro line 6 to East Bus Station, Exit A. Then, take a taxi to Jinbi Road where you can visit the Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archways, and Nanping Street. According to your time, they shall be the best choices for you, and you can enjoy wandering around, shopping and dining. After touring around, take a taxi back to the airport at least two hours before departure.
