About:Ancient City of Gaochang

Can I travel from Tokyo to Shanghai then go to Kunming/Guanghzou and fly Shenzhen to Dubai

I am thinking of the 240 transit visa. Do I need to do anything before arriving in China to get this?

You don’t need to prepare anything in advance because your itinerary is qualified for the 240h visa free transit policy. You only need to apply for a 240h stay permit upon arrival in Shanghai for traveling in Mainland China. Your flight ticket from Shenzhen to Dubai may also be required.

We are on a cruise from Shanghai to Japan in July. We arrive the night before the cruise just to be sure we dont miss the cruise and stay less that 24 hours and we come back from the cruise and leave 8 hours after arriving in Shanghai again. DO WE NEED A VISA? I have sent an application over a week ago and still not heard anything from the Embassy!!!!!
