About:Embassy & Consulates of Philippines in China

Visa status? overstay?

Here is an update. As it turned out my friend had a tourist L type to enter China, she was told by the agent whom she had no prior interaction with before this job in Beijing came open and she accepted February 2015.

The agent in the Philipines told her to go to PRC using a tourist L type then she or her Chinese employer could convert it to a work permit once she arrived in PRC. That turned out to be a lie not only from the agent but the employer. So I contacted the Philipines embassy in PRC, this was November 16, the next day she had to go to the police who gave her 15 days detention, those 15 days was over about the 2nd of December. To date December 8th we have no idea where she is.

We were going to contact her employers when this all happened November 18th , however she asked me not to because the employer had paid the agent quite a large amount of money to get her there.

My friend also told me that the husband and wife, she was their Nanny, took her Passport from her around the 1st of November, they had already taken her Visa when she arrived February 13 2015.

Hopefully she is back in the Philipines. She mentioned that the Chinese were taking all of her possessions (clothes), which she brought with her. The sad thing is she's very poor.

Greene, it's a pity that your friend has overstayed her L type, though it's mainly the faults of the agent and company. Since she has got back to the Philipines, you don't need to worry about her any more. However, she may not enter PRC in the future.
