About:China Transit Visa

An Australian citizen and an Indian citizen travel from Australia to india, stopping at Shanghai.

hi I am an Australian citizen and my husband an Indian citizen with a valid visa in Australia. We have a long transit on both departure and arrival at Shanghai. We don't plan to leave the air port, so do we need a transit G type?

Dear, may I know how long your transit in Shanghai is? It’s not a matter of whether you leave the airport or not, it’s determined by your layover time in Shanghai. If it’s less than 24 hours, both of you don't need the transit G type entry permit. If it’s more than 24 hours while less than 72 hours, your husband need one but you don't need it. If the transit time is longer than 72 hours, both of you need it.
