Free Visa Exemption Beijing

If I travel as follow:

US to Tokyo
Tokyo to PEK
PEK to US
Can I stay in the city for 72 hours without a visa?

Yes, your situation is applicable to the 72-hour visa free policy. Do apply for a transit permit after landing. Then you can have a good trip in the city.
