About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I get a visa exemption for 240 hours?

Hi there! I'm from Russia and I'm planning to do a trip Kuala Lumpur - Kunming (technical stop) - Xi'an - Shennzhen - Moscow. The time between the first landing in China in Kunming and departure from Shenzhen is less than 24 hours. Can I get a visa exemption for 240 hours? Thank you so much in advance!

Nat, if your total transit time in China, counting from your first landing in Kunming until your last departure from Shenzhen, is shorter than 24 hours, you will be definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. Even if your total transit time was longer than 24 hours it would not be a problem because Russian citizens are eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and now, under 240 hour visa free transit, it is allowed to have more than one stop within China. It is important to emphasize that upon your first landing in Kunming, the first thing that you will do will be to approach 24/240 hour visa free transit where you will present your flight itinerary and apply for a temporary entry permit because your two next flights will be domestic. After a short check you will be granted a permit and after that you will cross the immigration. After that, everything is easy and straightforward. Have a nice journey.

Thank you for such valuable information! Our first landing in Kunming (designated as a technical stop) is only an hour and a half. We hope that during this time we will be able to apply for 24-hour transit and pass through immigration control! Thank you again and have a nice day!
