can we apply for a 72-hour voa if we take a return flight?

My son and I are traveling from Jakarta-Guangzhou-Jakarta but will only be in the Guangdong Province for less than 72 hours. Can we apply for a 72-hour VOA?

Dear, there is no 72-hour VOA, but 72 hour free transit is provided in Guangzhou. But I’m afraid you cannot use the 72 hour free transit because your route is not eligible for the policy.
