About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Amsterdam -> Shanghai -> Hanoi

I am planning following trip:
Amsterdam -> Shanghai, arrival: Friday 10:40 am
Departure Shanghai: Monday 4:05 pm
I want to fly from Shanghai to Hanoi, afterwards but this is a transit flight with a stop in Guangzhou.
I will not leave the airport and fly to Hanoi a couple of hours later.
Can I still apply for a 72 hours visa to visit Shanghai?
From what I understood the 72 hours are calculated from 0:00 hrs the day after arrival, so I would have less than 72 hours in Shanghai.
But would else my transit flight be a problem?

You don´t qualify for the 72h twov as you have a stopover in Guangzhou.

It´s not allowed to have a 2nd stop in another chinese city.
