About:Shangri-La Attractions

I will be going to Shangri-la on December. Normally, does the area experience snow?

What can I do for 2 days? I'm planning of going there from Tiger Leaping Gorge, expected to arrive at the place at noon, then go to the monastery. Is it true that we need to pay to enter the monastery?

The next day, I plan to just strolling at the Old Town, before leave for Deqin at noon. I plan to go to Deqin just to experience the sunrise and sunset and to see the Meili Snow Mountain. Spend one night at Deqin, then the next morning after I watch the sunrise. I will take bus to Shangrila, and expected to arrive in Shangrila at noon. Then, go to Napahai Lake (or should I go to Bitahai Lake?). Is it far from the bus station? I read that Napahai Lake is dry during winter.

Does my itinerary is doable?

If it have waterdrops, it should be snow and you will see the beautiful snow-covered landscape in December. But it is difficult to tell if it will have waterdrop during your stay. just pay attention to the weather report.

Your itinerary is feasible. You are suggested to start off in the early morning and go there at noon. And yes, I heard that some monasteries don't have entrance fee. You can go and see.

The distance between the bus station and Napahai Lake is about 6.5 miles. To Bitahai Lake, the distance is about 20 miles. You are suggested to go Bitahai Scenic Area, although it is a little bit far. Napahai Lake doesn't have beautiful scenery in winter. Have a good journey!
