Flying from SF to Hong Kong and sightseeing in Guangzhou, would I need a travel Visa?

if I am flying from SF to Hong Kong (which doesn't require one) and then go for some sightseeing in Guangzhou? (2 days less than 72 hours). Please advise. Thanks.

Yes you would need one as long as you enter the mainland China. However you probably won't need one to enter Hong Kong
