About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

I have an Australian passport and one visa for China, can I go to Hong Kong from mainland?

Do I need another Chinese entry permit to go back to mainland after 1 day trip to Hong Kong? I will be landing in Guangzhou first then next day planning to go to Hong Kong, but question is, will I need another entry permit to go back to mainland after visiting HK?

Yes, in principle, you need another entry permit to go back to mainland.

However, when you enter mainland for the first time, you stay only for a day, so I think it's possible to use the free transit policy. If you can use it, the entry permit can be saved. Then you can use it to re-enter mainland.
