any exception for passport validity on short stay?

Hi ,
I work & live in Luxembourg with a residence permit and I have previously obtained China visit visa on my passport.
I need to visit PRC for a short business trip (4 days) in November & I intend to apply for a single entry permit - 3 month.
my problem is that my passport will expire in DEC15 & I have no time left to issue a new passport before my trip, my trip is anyway within current the passport validity. is there any exception from 6month validity?
