About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travelling to Shanghai from Korea (British citizen)

I am a British citizen and I would like to travel to Shanghai without a visa as my entire stay will be less than 72 hours. I won't be in transit as I'll be flying direct from Korea and will I'll return on a direct flight to Korea. Can I still apply under the 72 hour visa free entry policy or do I actually need to be 'in transit' for this to work?

Thanks
Jay

Jay, you need to be in transit for this to work. So if you travel from Korea to Shanghai and then back to Korea, you don't qualify for the 72-hour visa-free transit scheme.
