About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

Australian Passport holder flying in and out of Hong Kong wishing to enter mainland China

I am flying in and out of HK and intended to apply for PRC Tourist visa for mainland PRC while visiting HK (single entry - 14 days);

Since I can enter HK without an entry permit - I don't have one and never intended to get one for HK.

As I'm returning to HK before I fly out - will PRC need proof that I can re-enter HK before issuing the tourist L type?

In other words if I don't have a HK entry permit, will PRC refuse to issue a Tourist L type for mainland PRC until I can prove that I can re-enter HK.

Hi, Michael. In principle, if you don't have HK residency, you can't apply for mainland entry permit from there, but you can still have a try. During the application process, you don't need to submit the entry pemit for HK. However, you should submit the round trip tickets. I assume the return ticket from mainland to HK will not suffice. You may need to show a ticket from HK to another country.

I never had any problem getting a PRC tourist visa in HK. Via an agent or at the consulate! Same day service by agent, next day service at the consulate. Just need a valid passport and ID photo and the fee!
