kunming to zhongdian (gyalthang) - ground transportation

Question

1) For the above would it be more comfortable to travel by train upto Lijiang City and then bus or bus all the way from Kunming?2) For travel by the Sleeper Bus - where do you get the ticket and bus in Kunming and what is the current fare?

1. If I were you, I would choose to take a train to Lijiang for a transfer and then catch a bus to arrive, because the direct bus from Kunming takes 10 hours (much longer than the former method) to Shangri-la which is suffering. 2. At Kunming West Bus Station, you can easily catch a bus. For buses with seats, it costs CNY249 per personl; for sleeper buses, the fare is CNY208 per person.
