About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Qualify for 72 hours free transit rule or not?

All, I will be arriving on Oct 2nd 8.50 am and would like to stay 72 hours. my Outgoing flight is on Oct 5 12.50 PM. Do you think this will qualify for 72 hours rule?

Incoming : BEIJING, CN (CAPITAL INTL), TERMINAL 3 02 OCT 08:50
Outgoing : BEIJING, CN (CAPITAL INTL) 05 OCT 12:10

As your transit time is longer than 72 hours, you are not eligible for the 72 hour free transit rule.

I thought 72 hours rule apply following the day of the arrival so in my case I will arrive on Oct 2nd 8.30 AM my 72 hours clock start at 12.01 Oct 3rd. Not sure if this is correct

policy says that the 72 hours start counting at 0:00 am of the following day of the entry date

In Beijing, it's not the case. The 72 hours start from the time you have gone through formalities at the airport. In other cities, the 72 hours count from 00:00 of the day following arrival.
