Hi, you are not eligible for the 72-hour free transit both times because you transit in two Chinese cities. For the first schedule, you need to get a transit visa in advance. For the second schedule, you can make use of the 24-hour direct transit policy so that the transit permit is still not needed.

You can't receive the free transit by email. You need to tell the airline before you arrive and then apply for it at the airport.
