Visa for China from HK

As a South African, I understand that I can get a 30 day VOA, in Hong Kong. If I wanted to get a tourist L type to China, what would the requirements be, and where would I need to apply? Also, what would be the approximate time for the process be?

Hi Graham, it's suggested to apply from South Africa instead of HK as you don't have HK residency. Nowadays, you should go to the CVASC office in Johannesburg to submit the application. The application documents you need to submit include your passport, a photocopy of the passport's data page, a fully completed application form, a color bare-headed photo taken within six months, and round way tickets and hotel booking records. The application process takes about four working days.
