Can i cancel my student visa and apply for work type

Hi,

I am on student type now with validity till MARCH, 2016. i got offer from company and they prepared all my work Z type documents and advised me to go back home country and apply for work Z type in Chinese Embassy.

My question is i am on student type so in this case do i need to cancel student type first if so how should i cancel?

Once i will cancel student type and go back to home country to apply for work type, will they create any problems. I mean why i cancel student type and applying for work type.
