Colombian and US citizen going from Tokyo to Shanghai

Hi, I am living in New York, USA. I am going on a backpacking trip this winter and I start in Tokyo, I am looking for flights from Tokyo to Shanghai and planning on doing some traveling in China for a couple of weeks. Do I need to apply for a visa as a Colombian citizenship ?
