Can I apply for Chinese visa in Denpasar as a Danish citizen?

Hi. I'm travelling to China as a tourist on the 27th, but will be in Bali till then. I would like to know if it is possible for me, as a Danish citizen, to apply while I am in Bali, or if I have to get it in Denmark, as I have heard rumors of such. If it is possible, I would like to apply in Denpasara, if this is possible, seeing that this is closest to where I'll be.
Thank you.

Helene, if possible, I think you should apply from Chinese embassy/consulate in your own country, to play it safe. Some Chinese embassies require the applicants to provide their resident permit for employment, study or other purposes. The applicants can apply around one month ahead their trips but shouldn't be earlier than 3 months.
