About:China Transit Visa

Indian citizen on the way to NorthKorea - stopover in Beijing --> Chinese visa necessary?

We have an Indian colleague who has to go to North Korea. Stopover will be Beijing. Does he need a visa for a short stopover (change of planes..)
As India is not mentionned under the 51 countries for a 72h-free-transit, I´m not sure how to handle this.

Thank you

Susan, if you just transit in Beiing less than 24 hours, then you needn't apply one in advance. If it is longer than 24 hours, then you should apply for a transit type from the CVASC branch in India in advance. Onward airticket and passport are required.
