About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Not using a visa on a first visit

My situation is as such. I've applied and am granted a visa for China (single entry). however prior to my trip, i would be visiting on a holiday for 7 days only which doesnt require an entry permit. Can I opt to not use it for the family holiday, but only for the longer trip after which?

Hi there! I personally think you can opt not to use the single entry for the short visit. However, you had better confirm this with the Singapore. When you are crossing the border, you can explain your situation to the officer so as not to invalidate your single entry permit.
