Options for extending stay in China on a Temporary Residence Permit

My contract (and visa) expires on June 30th (I arrived mid-January) and I'd like to stay and travel for a few weeks, departing on July 11th. What options do I have for an extension? My employer is proposing a thirty-day extension of my current Z type, but I would prefer to have a 30-day L type. Thanks for any help you can provide!

If you prefer to apply for a single L type, then you should go to local entry and exit management bureu at least 7 days before you Z type expires. There you can confirm what documents you need and whether you can apply for a L type.

Personally, I think your employer offers you a better option. If they agree to extend your stay, then it saves the trouble you go to the bureau.
