hong kong entry requirements

Iam going to hong kong next month and going to stay there for 40 days with a friend in his apartment and I only have 2000 usd iam saying this because some people say to me that I have to get a confirmed hotel reservation and at least 5000 usd to enter Hong Kong...is that true
