About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Is consular jurisdiction necessary?

My China passport has expired.I live in Florida. I will return to China this summer. Do I have to go to Houston, Texas for renewal or I can go to New York City too? The reason why I want to go to New York to renew my passport instead of go to Texas, it's because I don't have any relatives in Texas but I do have some in New York.

Suan, you have to go to the consulate in Houston. If you submit your renewal application to the embassy in New York, the applcation may not be accepted.
