About:China Visa Application in USA

Getting Visa in at consulate beside one's own jurisdiction.

I have a Louisiana license so my consulate would be Houston. However, I do not live there and cannot go to Houston and will go to the consulate in DC. What is the likelihood they accept my application for a Z type if I explain to them my situation? Is it vital that it be at Houston? I have tried to call over 50 times in DC and Houston, but never got an answer. Thanks in advance.

John,

According to the materials written on the website of Chinese embassy in USA, the applicants must submit their applications to the consulate in their own jurisdiction. Their applications won't be processed if they submit to the consulates in other places.

If you can't not present your materials to Chinese consulate in Houston, you can ask your friends or families there to submit and pick up on your behalf. Or you can assign an agency to apply on your behalf.
