Visa Application in Tokyo- EU Citizen

Hello,

I am a German citizen and I am visiting China at the moment. In two weeks I want to travel to Tokyo. After that short trip I am going to visit Beijing before I return back to Europe.

Where I can apply for a new Chinese L-type in Tokyo? Are there many agencies?

Is an express application possible? I arrive on Thursday and leave Tokyo on a Tuesday.

Thank you in advance,
Best regards

Daniel

Daniel, how many days will you stay in Bejing? If the time is not over than 72 hours, you can possibly apply for the 72-hour free transit policy, so that the transit permit is not needed.

If you want to stay for a longer time, you should apply for an L type in Tokyo. You have to get it via agencies. The embassy offers express service, which takes two or three working days. However, you can use it only upon the consular officer's approval.

Thanks for the answer Sherry! I am more than a week in Beijing. So do you think I get a new L type for a second time without any complications in the embassy?
