Beijing Transportation Smart Card for entry to sightseeing places

I am afraid I don't understand what you mean when you explained you could use the card "on condition that it is registered as the tourist annual ticket in these parks by depositting another CNY50, CNY100 or CNY200". I'd be very grateful if you could please give me some information. I will be traveling there soon. I am planning to stay for 5 nights in the city. Thank you very much indeed!

Yes, apart from using in transportation, the card has new function. In some parks, you can activate the card and reload it with a certain rate. And then you can use the card to visit about 19 parks and 121 scenic spots (the deposits of CNY50, CNY100 and CNY200 are used to pay these parks).
It will function as a annual tickets in these parks.

Personally, you will stay for five days around, there is no need for you to buy a card and activate the function. It will be convenient for the long-time residence in that city. For short stay, you can just buy the tickets upon your arrival in parks or scenic spots.
