can you leave institution on x2 visa earlytravel in china for 2 weeks-is it legal

My friend is at University for three and a half months since 1st March on x2 type, a double entry one and does not like it and wants to leave the institution in ten days and then travel for 2 weeks within PRC with a friend and then come back to England ie end her contract early with the university as although she is on a student type she is actually not studying she is teaching English at the University.Is this legal or is it likely she will end up being arrested for terminating contract 6 weeks early -what should she do?how long after informing the uni that she is leaving does she have before she HAS to leave the country?please help really worried??

Fizzy, it's illegal to work with a X2 type. If someone reports your friend to local entry and exit mangement bureau, both your friend and the university will be fined. If she has a double-entry X2 type, she can leave and come back again. But I think she'd better inform the university and ask their permission.
