Mary, is your dad a Chinese? If so, you should prepare your valid passport, a photocopy of the passport’s data page, a filled-out application form attached with your recent half-length color photo, the original and photocopy of your UAE resident permit, the photocopy of your dad’s ID card and household registration book, the original and photocopy of your birth certificate, and an invitation letter from your dad. If it’s your first time to go to China, you should also provide a financial standing proof.

Hi michelle,

thanks for the information.
what if my dad doesn't know how to write an invitation letter?
he doesn't have any one with to write the letter for him.
and also for the bank draft, is there a template i need to follow?
is there a minimum salary required?

I am a Filipino, born in the Philippines with a Chinese surname YAO LEP. My father is half Filipino & half Chinese blood.

Now, he is residing in Xiamen, China with no one taking care of him. He is requesting me to visit him as soon as possible, he is going in & out at the hospital. He already undergoes with several surgeries and He is 80 y/o. I haven't seen my father since He left us year 1999. As a Nursing Graduate, I want to take care of my father & to know his situation there even if its just a limited time. Because I need to go back here in Abu Dhabi for my work.

I'm planning to visit him this September 2015. I want to know the documents i need to prepare.

Hoping for your kind consideration.

Will await for your kind reply.

1) Is there no-one that could write the invitation letter on your Fathers behalf?
2) Saying you want to take care of him, might work against you - as it implies you will stay.
3) The financial statement is a list of your assets [bank balances, land titles, etc]. With supporting documents.
4) Normally embassies do not answer email. A visit in-person is best.
