USA Passport holder traveling between Hong Kong and Mainland China

I'm planning to take a flight to Hong Kong, enter mainland China for a month or so, and then reenter Hong Kong for another month before departure. What should I do visa-wise? Which do I apply for?

Hi Jenny! As you have US passport, you can enter HK freely for a stay less than 90 days. That is, you don't need the entry permit for your two visits in HK. However, you need to get one entry permit for mainland before you depart. You can apply for it at the embassy or consulate in the US by providing required documents.
